BellyButton Lint

So, i have been musing on my personality.

sounds weird, doesnt it?

but, while writing a post for one of my online classes tonight (discussing the properties of an ideal team or something), i looked back over others posts. “Attributes of a Successful Team,” “Team Leadership,” “Successful Teams.” Guess what mine’s called?

“Go Team!”

and for some reason, the contrast in titles there, lead me mentally back to a psych class i took in college. now, i have a minor in psych, i work with special ed kids, psychology is fabulously interesting to me. but, i never felt right in that class. i cant even remember the title, but the theme of the whole class was “Know Thyself.” interesting class, but it was out of place for me.

for example, we were told to bring in a few quotes that speak to us about who we are and the importance of self knowledge. “great! i love quotes! i collect them and have a whole bunch on my website!”

so i select two, and go to class. and then i get there, and people have picked really intelligent sounding things that were twisty and winding and i wondered if these people had spent hours on the net searching for this stuff or if they carried around these amazing quotes everyday and all the time.

and then it gets to me, and all ive got is “a mighty oak was once a little nut that stood its ground,” and “you live and you learn, or you dont live long.”

so, the question is, am i very very immature? completely insane? does my brain work a little differently than everyone else’s?

or were they just being pretenscious (which i just horribly misspelled and mangled, sorry) and trying to impress people with their ever amazing quote skills?
