You know, it’s really annoying when I have to fight the urge to comment in the margin of a script – “Your story is decent, but I want to hit all of your characters in the face with a brick.”

    I’ve wanted to respond to emails about real people and events with the same note. :o )

    You’re allowed to make those kind of comments. I do. But maybe they expect those of me by now. I might make it a little gentler, but if the characters are nonsympathetic, I don’t see a reason why you can’t make a note of it.

    Then again, that might be why I’m known occasionally as the snarky one…

    Sooo you are an English teacher – not an editor?
