I have decided that prozac is a fabulous wonderful thing.
I know this, because i had absolutely no anxiety attack on Sunday, when before i spent HOURS on Sunday stressing and freaking out over the fact that TOMORROW IS MONDAY.
and this past Sunday? Minor unease, but i was completely able to function! I did dishes! and wrote drabbles! and laughed!
And then Monday? I went to therapy, and i DIDNT CRY. not once! and i could actually talk about work and stuff! without crying!
I LOVE PROZAC.
So, as we all know, i have been dealing with some depression and anxiety about work. (hee, accidently typed ‘wok,’ and no, my wok works fine. Yumm, fried rice)
anyway, this has barely started, and already we are wandering around. hmm. this could be a problem. and now, im hungry and desire fried rice. dammit!
Anyway, today, although i didnt go into the whole depression/anxiety/i suck issues, i DID tell my parents that i was seriously burnt out and might not want to teach next year. whee!
of course, this was followed by a conversation that if i wanted to get brandus through school, i might have to suck it up and teach anyway.
thaaaanks daddy.
but hey, i told them. this is a big deal for me. so, throw your parties for me, please.
now, i just have to tell them im on antidepressants, and we’ll be all set.
i also got a recipe from my mom for fried green tomatoes, as have been craving fried foods of the Southern variety. its the heat, you see. makes me homesick.
my new computer! through a series of horror and trauma and pain of misdelievery! is here! and gorgous and fast and i have SO MANY TABS OPEN ALL AT ONCE.
also, Humphrey is sulking and now will not even boot up completely. i have good timing. i told everyone he was dying.
however, he is still my beloved Humphrey, and i will miss him, even as i am worshipping at the alter of new.
New comp does not yet have a name, but if you want to, you can go vote in the lj poll here, regardless of whether you are an lj-er or not. i think.
right now, im leaning towards “Madmartigan,” but Brandus is lobbying for “Stitch.”

First off, we’ve been back since late Friday night, but my brain has been a little scattered with jetlag and the stress of having to go back to work (blergh).
Things to tell all of my flist when i get back from Rome and can afford it:
1. why i cannot type on italian computers (what the hell does the alt gr key do? and why cant i find any of the punctuation?)
2. scooter!brandus and the scooter gangs
3. 1100 stairs just to spit off the top of st peters.
4. all i want to do is see dead people. why wont they let me see dead people?
5. the world’s most evil italian woman
6. POPE ON A ROPE..or, in a snowglobe!
7. did alia get struck by lightening by accidently cussing in the vatican?
8. why there was no swimming in capri, and why we have decided to buy a row boat and move here (we’ll make a fortune!)
9. why i have no pictures of nuns
10. why we ate chinese while in the capital of pasta
