I’m Not Dead! (Yes, You Are!)

Well no, im really not dead, just been knocked on my ass by sickness. I could feel it coming.

So, last Thursday, i went ahead and did lesson plans for Friday, called in, and hoped Monday I would be better, as i had a meeting at 8am that morning.

Slept in Friday, felt..ok, but was glad I had taken the day off, as i didnt exactly feel great. Repeat Saturday and Sunday.

Add in some moaning, lots of boredom, but getting winded when i tried to pack or clean.

Wake up Monday morning. Wondered how i couldve gotten hit by a bus while in my upstairs bedroom asleep. Get to work, find out meeting was canceled. Come home and back to bed!

So. im here today. My eyes arent exactly focusing, but im not dead.

I think ill go for a walk.

Death and Destruction

Im such a freak. I LOVE movies about natural disasters. I LOVE stories about natural disasters.

Dont look at me like that, i have a kink.

And yes, this means that I have seen (and throughly enjoyed) movies like: The Day After Tomorrow, Deep Impact, Armageddon, Twister…basically, if something horrible happens to the earth in the time of a movie, i want to see it.

So, when I heard that the Discovery Channel was doing an entire day of nothing but talking about natural disasters, well, you couldnt PRY me away from the tv. It was all a countdown to their new “what if” destruction movie called SuperVolcano, involving Old Faithful and the volcano underneath Yellowstone.

So, i might be sick today, and completely incable of doing anything expect for sleeping and calling brandus to whine every 15 minutes, but i can still be fascinated by the death and destruction that the earth is capable of.

Apart

Brandus and i found a new apartment!

We were planning on moving out of the ghetto anyway, so when i called our realtor and found out our landlord had quit the day before, and we were living in one of the properties that was in controversy, we decided to step up our timetable a bit.

Seriously, i called and they were like, “she quit yesterday! where are you? what?” so yeah. it isnt pretty there right now.

Anyway, new apartment! Brandus had today off from work, so he drove around and called everyplace that he passed that wasnt in the ghetto and looked affordable.

And he, in his brightness, located us a lovely place to live!

its THREE bedrooms! (says i, “is shan moving in?” he just laughed in a panicked sort of way) its not the most wonderful apartment in the whole world, although it is completely cute, but its in a good neighborhood with NO reports of car breaking into, quiet, about 3 blocks from my work (even though i dont think ill be there much longer, but whatever), and RIGHT NEXT TO a park with a lake and a walking track!

and its CUTE! and it has three bedrooms, so one is a bedroom, one will be brandus’s meditation room, and one will be my playroom!

and we have the next few weeks to actually work on moving, so we dont have to rush and get moved in one day.

YAY APARTMENT.

Novemthree

Want to see something disturbing and really bizarre?

I happened to catch this on TLC the other day, and i couldnt turn it off due to being stuck somewhere between horror and absolute amazement. This is the 5 year old boy with the largest facial tumors ever recorded. And these arent the best pictures of before. After is pretty damn cool, but the tumors destroyed his facial bones, so they had to shape parts of the tumor into something resembling a normal face.

its a pretty graphic show, called “Face Eating Tumor,” but it is a pretty damn amazing thing to watch. i think they said they removed a total of over 2 pounds of tumor. FROM A FIVE YEAR OLDS FACE.
