Unexpected Abilities

Voldemort can:

-open cabinet
-obtain his own snacks from cabinet from shelf he should not be able to reach
-close cabinet
-open said snack container
-eat snacks
-dump snacks onto floor
-close snack container

-hold normal cup
-drink from normal cup while holding it
-throw water everywhere

-say “kitty”
-follow kitty around at turbo speed
-pet kitty

-open cell phone and remove battery

-look at steps, which he has never seen before, then attempt to WALK DOWN THEM
-succeed

HE’S THIRTEEN MONTHS OLD. IS THIS NORMAL?!

One Day More

Tomorrow, we will head to the post office. We will mail off many boxes. We will cancel our PO Box, forward our mail, give away anything extra we have.

On Tuesday, we will pack anything left to pack, zip up our suitcases, and say goodbye.

Tomorrow is our last day as bush Alaskans. After tomorrow, we’ll be back to a world with cell phones and roads and cars. After tomorrow, Voldemort will leave the only home he’s known, and we’ll head off to a world where we dont have jobs or a place to live, yet.

Goodbye, Alaska. It’s been quite a trip.

Final First

Yesterday, I saw the kids off. I waved. I cheered at the awards ceremony, and told them i was proud.

It wasn’t until I came home, and Brandus pulled me into a hug and said, “you did it,” that I realized..

I’m not a teacher anymore.

I never have to teach again.

I nearly cried.

I’m done. It’s over.

And I’m so relieved.

A Sticky Situation

Do you know what will happen if you leave a grocery bag full of junk food and full coke cans on a table where a small child could potentially pull it off?

Do you know how far a punctured coke can will spray?

Do you know how very unhappy a child taking a sudden sprite shower will be?
