Health care reform has passed, and my facebook is full of people who are VERY VERY ANGRY about it, and a few lone dissenters who are cheering “about time!” I dont particularly care what side you’re for at this point, i just dont feel like hearing about how THE WORLD IS ENDING. AMERICA IS GOING TO HELL. SUPPORTERS ARE COMMIE PINKO BASTARDS WHO ARE TURNING THIS COUNTRY INTO COMMUNISTS.
So. Whatever!
Instead, let us discuss children’s television, as it’s a happier topic, and one I can cheerfully rant about without getting this strange tic in my eyelid.
There is a show that Voldemort is fond of – not Dora or Dinosaur Train level fond, but he enjoys it when it comes on. It’s called Word World, and it is a show with animals where all the objects are made out of their words. So, a rug is made out of the letters R-U-G, a piano is made out of the letters P-I-A-N-O, etc, you get the point.
I find this show CREEPY AS HELL.
It would be one thing if it was just the THINGS that were made out of their letters, but SO ARE ALL THE ANIMALS. So, the main characters are made out of letters. Admittedly, I thought this was kind of a nifty idea at first – kids can see the letters! it’s a great idea! – but then i kept watching, and realized this was ALL KINDS OF WRONG.
Why? Because throughout the show, they find different letters for things and build words! This is great, and it even comes with a catchy little tune! EXCEPT. Sometimes they break things! Or they need to build something else! So they pull apart the object/word they just created.
….I DID MENTION THAT THE ANIMALS ARE ALSO MADE OUT LETTERS, YES?
I cannot watch this show without wondering when they’re going to start pulling each other apart to make new words. It makes me shudder. And also hope they start with Duck.
