Unable to Spell Todays Title

How pathetic am I? i just spent 5 minutes trying to figure out how to spell a word i wanted to use in todays title. dont ask what it is, as i still havent figured it out.

todays blog features a mess of stuff, spelling mistakes, and little to no punctuation.

This description of Madonna’s new kids book cracks me up. I havent looked at the book itself yet, and im not likely to, if i can avoid it. but the moral of the story is: people who are prettier than you are better than you.

works for me.

yesterday, i learned how to write a “Stoplight paragraph.” you see, the green is the opener and closer, the yellow is the topics in the paragraph, and the red are the details about the topic. the correct order of colors has been stuck in my head since yesterday.

green, yellow, red, red, yellow, red, red, green.

at this point, it has a beat, and a cool little hopping dance to go with it.

say it with me!

green, yellow, red, red
yellow, red, red
green!

i meant to post something yesterday, but i couldnt scrape enough of the Slime of Me into a hand and fingers. i was useless yesterday. i had the stoplight paragraph song in my head, i dropped everything i touched, and i cant even remember what my one class yesterday did.

but i watched Gilmore Girls last night, and then enjoyed the New!Expanded!Cable that we just got. we now get 60 channels. brandus wanted the
food network, and i wanted tv land. so now we have those, and free hbo for 6 months. not bad.

of course, tonight i have to decide if i would rather watch the season premiere of Angel, now with Spikey goodness, or the season finale of Paradise Hotel, which is a trashy, hysterically funny reality show i have gotten addicted to.

decisions, decisions!

maybe i should work on deciding what my kids are going to do today…i really need to stop posting at work.

Violent Tendencies

There is a child in one of my classes who i.want.to.hurt.

he was in my classes all last year/semester, and we came to a mutual dislike early on. i carried preprinted ISS forms with his name on them anywhere i was likely to see him. i started writing him up at least once a week.

and so..this year, i was happy, as he was not in any of my classes, he was even off my caseload, so i wouldnt even have to look at him! ever! i avoided him in the halls, i never let our eyes meet, i was planning to have a homing becon implanted in him so i could never be where he was, even by accident.

and then..last friday, i was asked to take some news kids in my class. we lost a teacher, and they are not being replaced, so we have to do something with these guys. i said, sure, no problem.

HA!

the Fiasco* is back in fine form..i nearly wrote his ass up today, and its his second day in this class! here is an example of why i hate him:

Me: So, if we are talking about time, it takes me 15 minutes to get here in the morning.
Fiasco: 20 minutes!
me: it takes me 15 minutes to get here in the morning.
fiasco: you mean 20
me: no, i mean 15
fiasco: it takes you 20 when you stop for gas
me: it takes me 15 minutes to get here, and i dont stop for gas in the mornings
fiasco: it takes you 20 minutes miss, really!
me: fine, whatever, it takes me 20. now going on with the lesson, if it takes me 20 minutes to get here in the morning, where do you think i live?
fiasco: loveland!
me: nope, loveland is about 30 minutes away, not 15
fiasco:parts of loveland are that close. if your going to 7-eleven..
me: im not, im going home. i dont live in loveland, where do i live?

And ON AND ON AND ON. he argues to argue, and he picks stupid shit to start with! and i know i shouldnt get into a power struggle with him, but he makes me completely and totally homicidal! last year, he tried to tell me that my middle name was Sarah. no, i said. I saw it! he insists.

GAH!! i just want to beat him to death with a shovel! no other child makes me this crazy!

*Fiasco is a result of spell checking his last name in an email to all his teachers last year to not let him out into the school, hall pass or no. i think it is funny, and a pretty damn good description.

So my sister natalie came into town this weekend to help me find a wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses and stuff. and my other sister melisa lives in denver, so it was family reunion time with lots of white dresses included. it was fun, i found some pretty stuff, but i dont know if its “the one”, you know? i think this is it, but its hard to tell from the picture. the bodice has pretty ivory embroderiery and stuff.. opinions?

and, my mom called. My grandfather was nice enough to buy me some old bride magazines from a flea market. wasnt that nice? and then, he tore the articles on sex out of them and threw them away. LMAO!!

other than that, Tricia, my friend who owns Paper Treasures, the stamp store i hang out at and teach some classes at, wants me to buy the business from her…umm…help?

SpEd Disney

Went to see Finding Nemo last night, and i was mondo impressed. Why?

Because Nemo is a special ed fish

Im completely serious. he has a small fin, and one of the sidestories is dad learning to let him do it his way, and that Nemo isnt helpless. its awesome.

in case you are wondering why i think this is so nifty, im a sped teacher, and its incredibly cool to see a movie where the handicap isnt the basis of the whole movie, and this big drama thing, but instead is just something that is there and life keeps going and its NO BIG DEAL.

near the beginning, Nemo is going to school for the first time, and three of the other kids ask about his fin. dad says, “he was born with it, its his lucky fin.”
kids ponder.
one tells nemo, “one of my tentacles is shorter than the others”, next kid: “Im H2O intolerant.” And the last kid offers, “Im obnoxious!” its just beautiful

and amazingly enough, Ellen Degeneras did not make me want to stab myself in the eye. I actually liked her. Especially when she decided to adopt a jellyfish and name him Squishy and take him home and he will be hers. Her Squishy. *snicker*

Going to the Chapel

i updated Marry Me again. you should be impressed, i am still a procrastinator, which is why i have an assignment for one of my masters classes due by midnight, and i working on the Spiral. umm..oops?

in other news, i just saw Pirates of the Caribbean, and its was pretty damn good. did i mention Orlando Bloom is a complete hottie? Johnny Depp is a complete freak in this movie, in an exceptionately fun way. he enters the movie on a sinking ship, and its just more fun from there.

Kira Knightly freaked me out a little, and it took me forever to figure out why the hell she looked like Natalie Portman from certain angles.. and then i realized someone had to play the role of Sabe in Phantom Menace..so that explains that.

Brandus is trying to convince me to elope..as well as actually use capitalization and punctuation on her web site. jury is still out on the elopement idea, but there will be no changing the way i type, thank you.
