ive been playing over at Technorati today, because its fun to search for stuff and people you know and common links and stuffs.
so i searched for “silver spiral,” cause, you know, hey.
almost every single link that came up was a horror/sci-fi/fantasy original story or fanfic.
i feel…dirty.
interestingly, 55% of americans dont believe in evolution.
this is fine, not a big deal. believe God made you personally. its ok with me. i think you are a little weird, but we all have our quirks.
however, 67% of americans who voted for Bush do not believe in evolution.
67% people. thats..a good number.
this is what concerns me:
In states as diverse as Wisconsin, South Carolina, Kansas, Montana, Arkansas and Mississippi, school boards are arguing over whether to include “intelligent design” in their curriculums.

look, believe or dont believe in evolution, but at least evolution has some research put into it. heck, people research the hell out of it. and are, right now at the very moment.
Intelligent design has nothing to do with research. nothing to do with science, and everything to do with religion.
Show me some proof, people. and i dont mean the Bible. as there are some of us who think the Bible has some good stories in it, and wasnt Jesus a nice guy, and no, i dont think i need to be subordinate to anyone but thanks for asking.
therefore, please get your religion out of my science class.
Yes, folks, it took me until TODAY to realize that i had posted the last post 4 times. because i am just that observant!
so i deleted three of them, and glared at the forth. I know what happened, my DSL and i were arguing that day, and i kept getting timed out. so i kept trying to post it, and it kept timing out..and yeah, vicious cycle.
so, its monday.

there was a article i saw yesterday about a woman beating her husband to death with an ipod. i cant find it at the moment to link to it, but damn, that must have hurt.

i have things i want to post about, like religion and my personal feelings about it, or why im weirded out by how my grandfather is reacting to my grandmother’s death. but i dont have to energy to deal with either of those topics today.
so instead, randomness!
i think i have talked the Brandus out of doing 8 million classes this semester. i just negotiated him dropping one class for me changing the kitty litter for the rest of the semester.
trust me, i got the better end of the deal. changing the kitty litter is much less work than having to bite my tongue to keep from saying, “i TOLD you not to take so many classes!” when he begins to come unglued from the stress.
My classes have started, and i dropped one before the very first class. i had my reasons, but also, didnt want to. im coming up to the end of my grant program, and i have work, plus an internship, plus i have to put together a big honkin’ portfolio and present it to a whole bunch of people this summer, so i figured 2 classes would be more than enough.
plus, this way i get to go to fort collins for open studio at the stamp store every thursday. which is fun, because i get to make stamp-y, art-y friends, instead of being stuck up in my room by myself, moping because i dont have anyone but brandus to show when i make something nifty. the hardest part is deciding what of my toys to take, because i never know what Christine (the owner) will have out for me to use.
this is getting long. and more rambley. So im going to go and pretend to do something work related. like planning. planning would be good. yes.

Today, i have seen or heard that they will be playing Amazing Grace and Chuck and Summer School.
Im watching “Amazing Grace and Chuck” right now, and i guess i really dont remember this movie like i thought i did. for some reason, i had it in my head that Amazing Grace was a basketball player, but it turns out that its baseball. huh. evidently, the only thing i remember clearly is the top of the missile silo opening. weird.
Summer School. i love that movie. the male stripper, Bob the dog toy, the tension breaker scream. im very excited.
yes, i have no life. shut up.

26 years ago, on this day, my father wrote a letter to his parents.
it complained about the snow that was taking over Rochester, Minnasota, where they were living at that time.
it discussed my mom’s mom being there for a visit.
it also stated, about halfway through, that the new baby had been born.
“alia, showing no regard for her father’s sleep schedule, arrived at 4:31 on January 11. ”
now, thats kind of nice, dont you think?
