Im sure by now that everyone has heard that Christopher Reeve died last night.

ive seen many many tributes posted by other bloggers, in mourning and in memory of Superman. i have nothing more insightful, nothing more worthy to offer than what I bring as a girl who grew up watching Superman, and a nongrownup who has watched him carry his disability with grace and courage, and an absolute refusal to quit.

This man had a severe disability, but he refused to let it rule his life. He did not shrivel up and die, or retire in shame and obscurity, but became a beacon for all people with disabilities. He continued acting, he became a public speaker, he went on with life. His dreams changed, but he kept pursuing them.

For that, for him, for Superman, I am in mourning.

While Im thinking of it, would anyone actually want guest access to post here?
